“Clothes take a bath? (Yes.) The soap is for the clothes to take a BATH?! (Uh huh.) That’s silly!” -Elle, when she was helping me to put soap in a load of laundry.
Today on the drive home from Grandma and Coco’s (we went there to celebrate Auntie’s birthday), the sun was setting. Elle asked me if the sun visits her house when she is sleeping. I told her that the sun visits the other side of the world when she is sleeping. Then she asked me if the moon visits her house when she is awake. I told her that the moon is visiting the other side of the world when she is awake.
Then the ever curious little Elle asked me how do they do that. I didn’t know how to explain the Earth’s rotation in relation to sun easily so I told her I would have to show her when we get home. She asked, “On the computer?” I laughed and said, maybe. The things this little girl comes up with are amazing. Then she said, “Well, I really want to know (pause) because I want to be a scientist.”
